Grimerlana Plenty to Like, Plenty to Dislike
TrueHello Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
Anoushka Slater While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
Darin One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.
asc85 If you're a fan of Robert Klein, I think you'll enjoy this documentary about him. Not much new is revealed, but it does remind you that in addition to his great stand-up work, he is also a successful Broadway and film actor, singer and composer. Sometimes one forgets his great versatility. It also plays back some of his best bits that were on some of the HBO specials that he used to do. His type of stand-up isn't really around that much anymore, so seeing it again is kind of a throwback. My only mild criticism of this documentary is when the hyperbole becomes ridiculous. There was one, maybe two of the famous comedians interviewed for this film that comments that Klein, along with Richard Pryor and George Carlin were the most important stand-ups of their era. Now, I happen to prefer Klein much more compared to Pryor or Carlin, but even I know that you can't compare the impact that Klein had to these two guys. It's just ridiculous. Let's not get too crazy here.
