Odelecol Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
Dirtylogy It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
Brainsbell The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.
sandersonx Loads of cult-classic fun and the original soundtrack is incredible. Looks, feels and sounds like an authentic, gritty 1970's film (clearly shot of film). Witty dialog, gorgeously shot historic locations and an eclectic mix of shifty performances (Vivica A. Fox, Peter Jason, Peter McGennis, Lyriq Bent and Sam Gates) all work well and give Queen City (aka Buffalo, New York) a distinct personality. But without a doubt, it is the way that writer/director/actor Peter McGennis weaves his own original music (blues, jazz and soul) into his film that makes Queen City an indie classic. Allen Toussiant, Sharon Jones, Susan Tedeschi, James Cotton, Magic Slim, Maria Muldaur, Average White Band... unreal! Sure, we're talking more Grammys here than Oscars and I can't recall a stronger "Orignal Soundtrack" in a very long time. Take your pick, there's a handful of songs that rightfully deserve "Best Song" if the Oscars ever get their head & ears out of the sand. When you hear the title track over the opening credit montage you'll know I'm not kidding. Queen City is a one-of-a-kind and must see for music lovers and anyone who shares a love for the 1970's.
