Reviews
2freensel I saw this movie before reading any reviews, and I thought it was very funny. I was very surprised to see the overwhelmingly negative reviews this film received from critics.
SeeQuant Blending excellent reporting and strong storytelling, this is a disturbing film truly stranger than fiction
Jenna Walter The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
yatendrasingh Abhay Deol has emerged as an intelligent actor in Bollywood. He absorb himself into the role, and it looks like natural scene. People misunderstand that he does not know acing, but actually he is born natural actor.Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! is pure Dark Comedy, and requires patience to watch. Dibakar Banerjee has shown the real culture of Delhi, he has succeed in getting right tone of delhi people and culture. Beside Abhay Deol there are two other actor's you will appreciate: Paresh Rawal and Neetu Chandra. All characters are uniquely designed.People looking for stupid Comedy must not see this movie. Because this is not any other headless-comedy-riot movie. Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! received positive critical acclaim. Raja Sen of Rediff gave the movie 4.5/5 stars, saying that "All I can say is – after very gratefully handing it four and a half stars, in case you asked – that this is a movie to love. And one that makes the audience feel just like the hero: really, really lucky."
manendra-lodhi The film is not too much to expect but in these depressing times of Hindi film cinema, it should be seen as a sign of relief. The film follows the story of a thief, whose ways to steal things are the basis of making the film funny. The character is shown as innocent hearted and who does not have any bad ideas in mind while stealing. In the end people made use of him and somehow Abhay deol manages to make our bone tickle in even those situations. The Indian sense of humor at most of the times seemed horrible but everything written here is considering other films in mind.PROS: You will feel the acting of Abhay Deol as wooden but somehow he had the power all the time to make you feel happy. His way of stealing are OK but sometimes looked too much exaggerated.CONS: The story of the film is great but I would not hesitate to say that it has been mishandled in most of the scenes. Many times the scenes were made deliberately funny and that was irritating.Verdict: "A recommended watch."
errpits One of my all time favorite Hindi movies...May be because of its freshness, coolness, acting, direction...Well whatever may be the reason but its an amazing movie experience and a cult status deserving movie. OLLO has its own way of narrating story ...very different of what we are habituated of viewing in Indian cinema.Abhay Deol fit the role of cool and calm thief to T. I would say that he's the best Deol of our country. Songs are so much the part of the movie that you never realize that a song came and gone. This movie is a good indication of progressive Indian cinema. Hats off to Dibakar Banerjee
idfor07 There is not 0 (zero) for vote otherwise I would have selected that one. The movie has broke one record - "The WORST movie of my life". Entire movie doesn't mean any sense. The acting is pathetic and senseless. We watched this movie on Friday night and HONESTLY, we couldn't sleep until 2 AM. We were thinking that our life is meaningless just because we spent 2 hours for this meaningless movie. It not only ruined our Friday night but also the Weekend. Seriously, I would have spent those 2 hours in restroom rather then watching this pathetic movie. Please give yourself and your family a fever and do not spend 1 minute to talk/watch/read/write about this movie.
