Reviews
Comwayon A Disappointing Continuation
Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
Robert Joyner The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Casey Duggan It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny
gnanendradurgesam the wolf and the lamb or 'OA'.....what a movie...Mysskin is not only a wonderful director but also a good actor..this film has 4 heroes actually..mysskin, isaignani raja sir ,sri and cinematographer br...the entire film plot happens during one night..and the night visuals of chennai are delightful..raja sir's background score will haunt u for many days, especially the bits of violin. .actor sri excelled in the role of a final year med student n carried the film exceptionally well along with myskinn ..this film breaks all stereotypes, has limited but strong characters,no heavy dialogues, no songs, intense background score which conveys the emotions and even the use of silence at some scenes is sheer intelligence...finally this film will b remembered as a path breaking film in tamil cinema..a huge respect for mysskin sir .............DONT MISS THIS GEM !!
P A Sivachander First and foremost, i would like to give a HATS OFF to the director Myssikin. He has yet again added a great honor to our film language. Sure one of the best movie of recent times it keeps our fingers engrossed for a little over two and a quarter of hours. It rightly showcases the human feelings en route its journey. Unlike his previous five attempts in the film industry, this time he perfectly syncs the basic human feelings like devotion, fear, helping tendency, thinking and etc in the story line. Be it the way he begins the story, or providing any breakthroughs, or the way he ends the story, he has made his screenplay to speak ( there are almost no dialogues in the time where you expect) but still his camera tells the story to us. The manner in which he tells the flashback in a single frame and demonstrating the eye-capturing expressions are something new to this generation(although some films like "Andha Naal" have attempted them successfully). Special credits to Isaigyani Illyaraja for providing the perfect backdrop the plot with his 10 bgms which themselves narrate the long story without the help of "Fillers"(i mean the songs). This is one of the best movies of the year. Its a must watch movie for a lifetime. I finish off by congratulating Myssikin for providing a brilliant masterpiece to the Tamil audience. I feel ashamed to state that this hasn't got the essential credits it deserves from the audience.Hope this might be overcome in the future.
Naren Pillai (narenpillai) Onnayum Aatukuttiyum- The Wolf and the Lamb. My review. As usual I saw the movie only now (Dec 25th), quiet late after the date it was released and portrayed but I watch once the cloud settles. This movie is truly one of a king and trend setter in today's hype and commercial filled Indian Cinema. Mysskin is an enormous of a director. In this movie he proved himself a good actor as well. The story though partially based on ancient Greek Aesop's Fable, The Wolf and the Lamb has been well knit and served neatly for Indian audience. Ilayaraja needs no comments, genius. The actors, lighting, location in and around Chennai everything was a master piece. Overall, loved it! Naren Pillai.
Ryder Prem When you are shown a city that is glowing even during the nights, artists who perform extra ordinarily well, Illayaraja's symphony, a story that is just like a fairy tale, one must say 'Cant ask for better'. This is what Mysskin's Onaayum Aattukuttiyum is all about. The Story is about a man who is a killer by profession trying to seek a redemption over a night. Simple.Screenplay is so good that it sticks to story and only to the story. Every characters in the movie are given proper detail (even the one that is out of focus). Being a thriller genre, the screenplay moves like a train that goes very fast and also not forgetting to stop by the right stations.Entire film has been shot in Chennai during the nights. The cinematographer must surely given the credit to have visualized the city extremely well. The direction skills of Mysskin is well known from his previous films,he has done a great job as well. The casts including Mysskin and Shri have all lived up to the characters. Interestingly all the characters were given animal-like shades (fox, lamb, tiger, bear etc). Finally you have Illayaraja's soundtracks throughout the entire movie. One thing for sure, Illayaraja is the only person in India who can communicate intense emotions without words. The movie has got no comedy but lots of humor. There is no romance in the movie, but it has got lots of love.At the end of day you will have a feel of experiencing, what is supposed to be world class cinema.Go watch it for Mysskin and Maestro. Highly recommended.
