StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Ogosmith Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
Robert Reynolds This short was nominated for an Academy Award. There will be mild spoilers ahead: This rather sweet and gentle short opens with a couple expecting the birth of their daughter. It sets the tone for the short very early on when the father starts playing with his daughter while she's in the womb.We watch the development of the relationships of various characters as the short progresses. The daughter grows up, as children tend to do, which her parents view with mixed emotions. She meets a young man and nature takes its course, with the happy couple starting out on their own, again to mixed reactions from the parents. The inevitable happens, as the dynamic changes between mother and daughter, with daddy the one caught in the cross-hairs. Funny, warm, tender and warm, this short grows on you with each viewing. Too bad this short isn't available on DVD. So far as I know, none of Borge Ring's work is available, at least not in the US.Well worth viewing and most highly recommended.
