Naval Sham Battle at Newport Trailers

Showing the attacking forces drawn up in line of battle. They immediately commence firing on the shore batteries. The batteries return the fire with telling effect, but are at last silenced by the overwhelming forces of the enemy. In the distance can be seen the ruins of a bridge destroyed by the invading forces. The smoke thickens as the firing becomes general, and the effect is superb.

Softwing Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??
Bereamic Awesome Movie
PiraBit if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Michael_Elliott Naval Sham Battle at Newport (1900) *** 1/2 (out of 4) This Edison films runs just 94-seconds but it's full of action and excitement. The camera is stationed pretty far back on land as we see a group of men by the waterfront doing battle with some ships trying to get close to the land. That's pretty much the "story" here but this film contains a lot of great action and all of it is perfectly captured. The camera is pretty far back so we don't get to see anything close but there's still a lot going on here and with the camera so far back it at least manages to capture everything going on. I think film buffs are really going to enjoy this as there's really a lot of action here including in the background you can see a bridge being destroyed in good detail. There are various forms of battles being done and just take a look at the sequence towards the end when a large group of people on the ground take off running.
