Quiet Muffin This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
GUENOT PHILIPPE A rare TV movie from the seventies, as I love above all. A sort of picture where DELIVERANCE would meet MOST DANGEROUS GAME. A pure survival movie, as we find everywhere in recent films, mostly released directly in DVD, at least in France. Thousands of them, and almost all the same schemes. This one is rather exciting, with an exquisite Richard Basehart as the bad guy, the bad lead who's in love with his beasts, two Tigers. Ben Gazzara is the lead good guy who tries to save his family against the evil Basehart and is beasts. Well, I know you'll already have got the topic. The only drawback with this picture is that nearly all action and suspense sequences were shot at night. So the movie is very dark in the pictures. See what I mean. I think of another TV movie, NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW, a title of that kind, which was shot in the same way. Very difficult to follow. Only the very ending is really flat for my taste.
