A Disappointing Continuation

Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.

Cannot think of a documentary I have seen that had a harder time deciding where it was going to go. The title suggests it will concentrate on WWII's immediate aftermath, but at least half of LIBERATION is a cursory chronicle of the beginning and duration of the war. There's a section, narrated by Whoopi of course, about American racial prejudice that comes and goes without any tie-in to the rest of the movie, likewise another segment about popular song and culture during WWII. Of course the camps are highlighted but its difficult to say that the title concerns their liberation; e.g., the choice of title might just mean general liberation from oppression. This is undergraduate level work at best.

I am sorry I cannot give an opinion about the movie. However the comment made about it is deeply deceiving to me. I guess that this is a young person, the one who made the comment. I feel very sorry to see that he/she gives an opinion about it on the basis of artwork. The only feelings referred are, about how it has affected the lives of friends. But there is not a single comment only about the atrocities committed in the dead fields of Germany (which is, I believe, what the documentary is about). The huge crime the Holocaut was! Did the teachers show it having in mind the artistic performances or was it to show the young ones how their ancestors were killed in the fields, or why many American GI's died in the European Continent to destroy the evil of a dictatorship?

I watched this in school during history class. It really made me think of the loss during the holocaust. It was deep and passionate and great for us students to watch.Teachers, I highly recommend this! Its great for us teens to relate to.Ben Kingsley does a great job in setting the mood, and he keeps you focused.I love the real life look into the lives of the people who survived and the death camps now.Its a bit slow sometimes but its totally worth it for the experience it grants you.My friends said they loved it and it effected how they look on life.So if you really want a good look into the holocaust or a teacher who wants to show their class the effects about the holocaust, this is definitely the movie for you.
