It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

"Just About Famous" is the perfect time-passer--a film you don't need to pay as strict attention to as a subtitled movie nor with a plot that is over-taxing. This is NOT meant as a criticism--it's just nice, light entertainment. This documentary is about folks who impersonate celebrities. The stories are all bound together by a convention in Orlando for these impersonators, Sunburst in Orlando, Florida. During the course of the film, you see a lot of these people talking about their craft and saying how much fun they're having doing this. In general, they seem like really nice folks and I enjoyed the film...but was a bit confused why they chose to often use Mexican mariachi music throughout the film. Why?! It certainly didn't seem to fit.

This movie was really entertaining! It follows look alike performers as they pursue their strange bandwagon careers. And what interesting careers they have!! The impersonators they chose ranged from US presidents, to pop stars, and random celebrities, and they could not have been any funnier! You get a real intimate look at their lives and how they were discovered, and the different directions they take with the attention they receive. It was fascinating to follow their journeys as they try to make it in showbiz and other strange venues. It's the funniest documentary I've seen in a while! I don't know where they find these people, but I want to see more! This should be a weekly TV show.

Though I biased, I think the Directors and Producer did a great job of what they set out to do. To make a film about the "real people" behind the impersonations in the Tribute Industry. This film is not a "Jerry Springer" type of film though many critics may want that. It's about the people who perform as ENTERTAINERS and how they got into the business. It's about what they do otherwise. It's about entertainment and the response these folks get when they go out to do their jobs.As the producer of the Sunburst Convention (now conference), I'm very pleased with the outcome of this movie. It's fun and funny. Just like our business. And it shows that we are not out to fool people. We put it on the line.....IMPERSONATION! Just like a magician....they are REALLY magic...and no one thinks they are....but it's cool to see it!Same with this movie.....even the name says it....JUST ABOUT FAMOUS...a movie about famous people....kind of.Check out the movie. It's a great and fun way to spend 90 minutes!Greg M Thompson/ Producer The Sunburst Conference For Professional Celebrity Impersonators Orlando

This film is a fascinating look into a unique profession where only a handful of individuals specialize. It is entertaining and follows talented individuals who work at their craft to portray various celebrities in demand for corporate functions and special events. There are amusing moments and good story lines about each character and an opportunity to observe a close knit community that gather once a year at a convention to grow in their field and positively contribute to our society's insatiable appetite and fascination with celebrity culture. Nice pacing and well presented. Talent from all over the USA and abroad. They tell stories of experiences they've encountered as their celebrity.
