Reviews
Harockerce What a beautiful movie!
Diagonaldi Very well executed
Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
Mandeep Tyson The acting in this movie is really good.
wzaxzt I was shocked that this kind of movie actually attracts attention from audience in China. I was absolutely embarrassed by every single word throughout the film. However, it all makes sense. The director of this film "Da Peng" is an uneducated video producer who gained his poor fame by making low quality web comedy for retards. And as for one of the talent "Qiao Shan", I totally throw up while watching him speak. Me and my fellows all agreed that he is the most disgusting pig we've ever seen.
ryanshazier this movie is a waste of time. While i was regretting my decision to see this movie my girlfriend just fell asleep halfway. it is supposed to be funny. There are indeed a few acceptable punchlines in the first 15 minutes. however about 90 percent of the movie does not amuse me at all. acting was not too bad but the emotions appear really awkward and far-fetched. worst of all, there is no plot. no plot! it is simply of heap of miscellaneous memes, which are supposed to be funny but fail to deliver. the movie did invite quite a few movie stars from HK, who did OK for themselves, but not enough to rescue the movie in general. the director has a name for 20+ minutes Internet shows in China. He's no good, at least yet, to produce a full-length movie.
Ace Chen This is a comedy brings you a lot of pleasure in the 108 min, I have been laughing many times. The director Dong Chengpeng is known as the short film Diors Man, a very funny video with four episodes. As a result, he is really good at amusing the audiences. On the other hand, the tears sometimes fill my eyes during the movie. The following comment may be a spoiler. The moment Dong Chengpeng told his friend that he never wanted to act as a Diors meaning someone who has petty and low identity, live a mediocrity life, hope to change but have no power, but to act as a hero,Jian Bing Man, the dream from childhood. The moment when the five casts sitting around the hotpot table, talking about why they come to Beijing, why they want to make a movie. Everyone has his down time especially the Diors, the whole life may be a down time. The moment when Dong announced the movie is stopped the disappointment on the face. Finally, there is an easter egg at the end of the movie, four gangsters from the movie Young and Dangerous appears and take my memory back to the rudimentary school. By the way, the actresses are gorgeous.
boblipton Jian Bing Man is a happy little comedy of a classic form. Chengpeng Dong is on the top of the world, smug and foolish in his success. He takes a spill to the bottom and works his way back, learning who he is and what is important in the process. In this case, he's a film star, famous for playing one character. He takes a bribe from a gangster to star the gangster's girlfriend in his next movie. Within ten minutes, the money disappears, as do his film career and hangers-on. He still owes the gangster, so he has to make a movie from a ridiculous script he wrote as a child and with people anxious to get into films. It's a good setup for comic humiliation and no punches are pulled. Yet in the mix, I came to care very much about these characters as they came into focus and grew. While there is nothing in this film that is startlingly original, the details are put together in an engaging fashion, and that is enough to make it a superior comedy.
