Ik Kudi Punjab Di Trailers

Ik Kudi Punjab Di tells a richly textured tale from a keenly female perspective set against the backdrop of male-dominated Punjabi society. It does so with a Shakespearean credo of “all the world’s a stage” and a lively cast.

Peereddi I was totally surprised at how great this film. You could feel your paranoia rise as the film went on and as you gradually learned the details of the real situation.
Brendon Jones It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Nicole I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
Kaur Ekbir This was def. a new concept in the punjabi cinema. A concept which perhaps the generation above us might not be in favor of, but a thought perhaps our generation should think about. The story revolves around Sehaj (Amrinder Gill) and Navdeep ( Jaspinder Cheema). Both freshers at a theater group or school(Not sure..), and soon falls in love. The problem is Navdeep being the only child in her family i.e. she does not want to leave her parents. Still Navdeep agrees to marry Sehaj but in one condition, if Sehaj shifts at her place after they get married. The thought did'not really please Sehaj at first, but he agrees. But the biggest problem was'not Sehaj's though, it was their families. They were NOT in favor of Sehaj becoming a "Ghar- jamai". Navdeep could'not see why her father was'not supporting her, since she was doing all of this for him, as a son would. Still they got married at a court, and Sehaj shifts into Navdeeps place. There were some ups and downs, Navdeeps pind did'not accept it at all, and her dad throws them out of the house. So they move into Sehajs place and yeah.. Thngs become better over time.Let's not go into details and move on to the performance of some of these freshers.Amrinder Gill - He did a much better job in this for sure. Kudos to him for taking up such a role. Not a lot of guy would wanted to play such a character. He needs to show more expression, and use his body language a little better, but over all a very FINE performance.Jaspinder Cheema- The girl did to some extent live up to my expectations. There was confidence in her performance, there was attitude in her performance. But there was no life in her dialog delivery. As if she was reading right from the script. But the camera loved her, and a very very fine start in the punjabi industry. Aman Dhaliwal - This guy won my heart. He's a natural for sure. There was no over-acting, there was no under-acting. He did what he came for, and did it with full energy. He got a very bright future in Punjab.Gurpreet Ghuggi - Though his role was very small. He surely made an impact. He did the job of Lalli Bawa flawlessly. It was just.. perfect.Rana Ranbir - This little fellow ROCKS. Acting is in his blood, and it surely shows on the screen. Absolutely loved him.The other cast did a very well job. They were there to make this movie running. Still the movie did not manage to make an impact on me. There were some flaw's in the movie. The movie was a work of fiction, and the story just went against what it was made for: "A girl can live up to the expectations"..Positive points: - The music was the biggest pluss point of the movie. All the time i was waiting for the next song to play. They were b'ful. Amrinder's voice, and Amardeep Singhs lyrics = Smashng. - The thought in itself was very nice. That a girl can stand independently in this male dominated society. - Rana Ranbir and Gurpreet Ghuggi, Brilliant performance. - Kimmi Vermas special appearance, It was good to her after such a long time. - The screenplay , cinematography done by Manmohan Singh ji, very pleasant to look at. - Introducing Aman Dhaliwal, Thank you for that. - The costumes of the characters, loved Jaspinders clothing.Negative Points: - The Court Marrige, that was something i strongly reacted on. How could she do that when the parents were'not in favor of her getting married at all. It was a strange climax. All the time the parents were proud of her doing everything right, and suddenly she does everything wrong. - Amrinder's role were'not done justice to at all. He could have gotten such a nicer role. A bigger as well role as well.. - The thought was nice, but there were no plot.Overall the movie is truly a one time watch for sure. Brilliant performance done by several characters and a new thought into the punjabi cinema, not to mention the brilliant cinematography and screenplay. A b'ful visual experience. Watch this movie in the theater, or buy the original DVD.
