Reviews
Odelecol Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
Glimmerubro It is not deep, but it is fun to watch. It does have a bit more of an edge to it than other similar films.
Plustown A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.
Brainsbell The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.
bgianci-790-772540 This felt like a dream come true for me. A meeting of the minds of Tarantino in the Twilight Zone in this cool dystopian futuristic film of vignettes. The writing has a fun yet suspenseful vibe and the themes played on me in a similar way that Black Mirror did. Great performances suspenseful writing with great twists and turns. Amazing score too! I am excited for more from this director.
vincentjroth Throwback to the anthology horror/farce film genre. This reminded me of anthology and vignette films like "Tales from the Crypt." Nice that they had the consistency of the same hotel/motel setting. Definitely an indie budget, reusing the same hotel rooms vignette after vignette. A bit more humor and outlandish farce than horror with a distinct altered or alternate reality feel in every Segment. If you enjoy strange realities like the Twilight Zone, you will love this. I really enjoyed Segment 4, Brain Robbers in Love - the comeuppance that smug uptight lady got was satisfying and poetic.
spitballfrenzy It's hard to compare this film to other films. Simply because there's not another film like it, honestly. The best I can do is say it's a mix of Tarantinoesque camera movements and American Horror Story plot twists. And some Black Mirror mixed in to boot! I was pleasantly surprised by this cast of sensational actors who helm this fantastical epic LSD trip. Erin Ownbey and Austin Freeman stand out as well as Baby Norman, who plays like 13 different characters is not only soft on the eyes but a melting beauty as well. If you're in the mood for a quirky assemble of eclectic characters then this is the movie for you! I think Director Ricky Hess did a wonderful job at creating a disturb reality set in a long forgotten Motel in the middle of nowhere.
Nick Sadler This movie had a great musical score and tight editing. It reminded me of the Twilight Zone type short stories. Also similar to the old "Tales from the Darkside" that were on TV in the early 80's. The stories were not really horror in the traditional sense like slasher blood style movies. The stories we more like light and fun B movies of the 60's and 70's. It was more like a collection of short storied of sci-fiction/mystery/other-worldly genres. My favourite was "Life After Men. Performances were OK. The style was good for the type of film as well. Looking forward to seeing more from this director.
