Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.

Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

Director clearly concerned with the plight of women who live in extreme poverty in the US and who are forced into awful circumstances as a result. Relationship between Chastity and Prince speaks to the reduction of all relationships between "man and man" under capitalism to "naked self-interest... callous 'cash payment'" in a moving fashion. Reminds me of the relationship between Clyde and Roberta in 'An American Tragedy'. The film is, however, incredibly bleak, with no vision of an alternative (which one would have sensed had the director been able to really get to the root of the circumstances facing Chastity).
