Reviews
SincereFinest disgusting, overrated, pointless
Holstra Boring, long, and too preachy.
Kodie Bird True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.
Phillipa Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
Tejas Nair I laughed my stomach off more times watching Jayaram's Ginger than I did watching recent mega-hit Malayalam comedies combined. All thanks to the witty dialogs and a wonderful screenplay.Except that it has a very poor ending for a script so funny, Ginger is a family entertainer. The story is about an unlucky guy, played finely by Jayaram (after a very long time in a good role), who gets betrayed by his family, his relatives and even his love interest. Ginger, in the film, means gold and the second part of the film mostly depends on how Jayaram's character tries different ways to get it back for his benefactor.Trouble ensues when he deals with the wrong people. The climax isn't as sensible as the first part, but it was funny anyhow. I didn't take the film seriously and was relieved at the end. A definite stress-buster, with some great performances. Even Siddique was funny. And, the editing is quite good for a Malayalam movie. Art department, writing, locations all are very good.BOTTOM LINE: Recommended! A sure one-time watch! Far better than recently released famous movies. I still can't figure out why this was snubbed.
