Inspired by a series of actual racial hazing incidents, 'Followers' focuses on three friends who want to pledge an exclusive fraternity. The friendship disintegrates when one of the friends is not accepted because he is black. To test the loyalty of the two white friends, the fraternity president forces them to target their African American friend through a series of dangerous, racially motivated hazing incidents.

Reviews
Perry Kate Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
HottWwjdIam There is just so much movie here. For some it may be too much. But in the same secretly sarcastic way most telemarketers say the phrase, the title of this one is particularly apt.
Melanie Bouvet The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
Staci Frederick Blistering performances.
calsinic watch it to see the kid get punched out of a window and falling to his death alone...one of the all time classic movie deaths...not even Segal or Van Dam could top this...because it's pretty impossible. I also like how the police weren't even slightly curious as to why the kid they put in prison for the murder was the only one that came out to mourn the death...wouldn't jake have had a bruise or mark on his knuckle from the most devastating punch in the history of violence? If you love bad films, especially low budget indy stuff, this is worth wasting time on...although I would not rent it or anything, I hope that isn't even possible.
Jam812000 First off: You will never see this movie.Second off: You all wish you could see this movie.I watched it on a public network so late at night that my friends and I couldn't bring ourselves to turn the channel. It was too hypnotizing.I couldn't place my finger on exactly what the worse part was: the heartbreaking acting, the hilarious script, the ambiguously gay plot, or the incredibly racist undertones. The incredible production value is obviously split between the inventive and clever editor (who oddly enough has the same name as the director ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA) and the incredible touch of fake tears that every character seemed to be plagued with whenever they had a conversation about Jake. Not seeing this movie is denying yourself the pleasure of seeing who the real evil during college is. That's right. It's Jake.Yep, A guy name Jake. He's crazy, he'll punch you out a window. Watch out all you first years.Fraternities are lame but man to get to wear blue jeans and a white T-shirt and take orders from a guy who wishes he was on soaps. The movie spends most of its length proving how little the writer knows about "african-americans" and just belittles the character into a fun loving guy who just wants friends, BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT ALL THAT DIFFERENT!!!!!!!! ITS JUST THE COLOR OF HIS SKIN THAT'S DIFFERENT!!! OTHER THAN THAT HE'S A NORMAL UPPER CLASS NEGRO WHO WEARS A PLAID BLAZER!!! RIGHT ON BROTHER!!! SHARE THE PLAID POWER!!!!The only thing funnier than this movie is the User comment that I read after the movie I just saw. Phenomenal.Enjoy.
mightymiek This is like the worst movie I've ever seen. It's slow and boring. You keep waiting for something to happen, but nothing really happens, and then the movie is over so....really...I'm sorry, but this is the worst movie I've ever seen!!
jopon13 I saw followers in a theater that was filled with Jessica Prunell' (cynthia) friends. I was amazed. It was a great independent drama. The story is great, and it does what alot of films fail in, be real. There are few movies that actually capture the way people really speak, the vernacular is the best part this movie. The cinematography is very interesting. The entire film is made like a hybrid of a professional low budget film- and a college film school project.Anyway, if you get the chance, this movie is excellent, and i suggest that everyone goes and sees it, and then they'll think twice about joining a frat.
