Reviews
Sameer Callahan It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
Beulah Bram A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
Skyler Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
Cheryl A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.
Sohom Pramanick HYPE was the thing that FIGHTER created most before release. Jeet's two previous blockbusters WANTED & JOSH helped the most as people could see that Jeet is the best in his rough action hero avatar. The lavish locations, the shiny star cast, the massive promos, super Jeet-Ferdous & Rabi Kinagi - the only person who gives good commercial films in the mean time --- Fighter has every positive features that a film needs to be successful.First of all, Jeet has done nothing new here, he was the same as he was in JOSH. The playful and sweet but at times rough avatar of him has done very good for him and he should continue with this. As central character he was fab, the whistles and claps prove that. Every time he punched, kicked or said anything heroic, you have to close your ears if you don;t want to be deaf in future. Jeet is the 'Fighter'. He fights, shoots, stabs, dances, romances and did we forget to say he also flaunts his eight packs which is one of the selling points of the film? After Wanted, Jeet sure has a winner up hi sleeve with this film thanks to Eskay Movies –the producers of Wanted and Fighter who have backed him tremendously and Jeet wouldn't have been 'Jeet reborn' without them. Thanks Eskay!Ferdous, the second most important character in the movie. I can't describe how wonderful he has done after a long blackout. He didn't look so dashing, handsome and was not so sexy, heroic in any other film. The X-Factor that Tees Maar Khan was searching in his dumb movie was in ACP Subhash of Fighter. Ferdous was magnificent in a word, The CHULBUL PANDEY Of Bengal. Srabanti was very beautiful & sweet throughout the movie. She doesn't have a good role in the movie, but the little dialogues and acting she had to do, did fine. Others like Biswajit Chakraborty, Locket Chatterjee, Partha Sarathi Ghosh and etc. were fine. Bharat Kaul was excellent at his role. Section Shankar wouldn't have been so dangerous and deadly if Bharat was not there. Bishwanath Chakraborty as a cameo was funny indeed.Music by Indradeep Dasgupta was outstanding. Every song in assistance with great locations and visualizations were the apple of the eye. Editing by Rabiranjan Moitra could have been good as the 170 minutes duration of the movie seemed long at some times. Ravi Kinagi is the man who needs standing ovation as he can give Tollywood such authentic commercial masterpieces. The way he has shown the Telugu movie "LAKSHYAM" in a complete new way in FIGHTER, that's the thing everyone can't do even copying from south flicks.Allover, Fighter is as good as WANTED or JOSH & has fought bravely to make a respectable position among people's hearts. If, you are a die-hard Jeet or Ferdous fan, you will have to watch it. Final Word? In short, if commercial is your cup of tea and you swear by the Ravi Kinagi-Jeet-Srabanti combo, "Fighter" should be the film on your list. This is a must watch.
