SteinMo What a freaking movie. So many twists and turns. Absolutely intense from start to finish.
Aedonerre I gave this film a 9 out of 10, because it was exactly what I expected it to be.
Merolliv I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.
careyrajan I was very impressed by the music of the film which leads me to see this film excited as I was the film falls straight down hill from the word go...Pathetic film, poor acing, poor screenplay! ordinary paces movie, amir khan couldn't do justice to the negative character! The Amir kajol chemistry is no where to amir SRK chemistry! The 2nd half is incredibly predictable, with the child rehan too bad in acting! the movie cashed in only for its hype, the foolish amir khan fans may go and waste their time and money to watch this crap! even Hrithik's Main Prem ki Diwani hoon is better than this!
silvan-desouza Aamir Khan is a perfectionist but sometimes his films aren't that good for e.g. MANGAL PANDEY, FANAAFANAA has a good plot but the film is too clichédThe first half is too long, boringthe entire shayari bit and the love story is damn clichédThe interval point raises expectations but the way Aamir kills people in the snow.etc is too much but yet forgiven The film drags in the second half too and scenes get boring but yet the entire Aamir- Kajol track in the 2nd half is handled well even the climax but Rishi's death scene is too funnyDirection by Kunal Kohli is good in parts overall bad Music is good the only problem was DES RANGILA as Kajol danced like a girl who could seeAamir acts very well as the smooth operator and his helplessness is well handled by him but in the first half as the romantic lover he tends to be annoying and looks too old Kajol is good in her part in the second half and emotes very well though her role is too childish in first halfAmongst rest Shruti is good Rishi is excellent in his part, Kirron Kher is okay the child is alright Shiny is wasted

toro1 The second half of this movie seems to be largely inspired by "Eye of the Needle" which I had watched twenty years back. It starred Donald Sutherland. "Eye of the Needle" has the backdrop of World War II. A German spy gets marooned on a desolate British island colony, probably Gibraltar. He falls in love with a woman who stays on the island with her crippled husband and their son. She too falls for the hero. When she learns about the hero being a spy she mercilessly shoots him. The tag-line of the movie ran like 'it is easy to love an enemy but difficult to kill a lover' (not verbatim). Replace the island by Kashmir made inaccessible in winter. Replace the German spy by lost husband terrorist. Crippled husband by alcoholic father. Presto, you get "Fanaa".The story writer (who won a Filmfare award for this movie!) owes us an explanation.
