Matrixston Wow! Such a good movie.
Actuakers One of my all time favorites.
FuzzyTagz If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
Lollivan It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Michael Ledo This film tries to be funny following formula and using pretentious dialog. It is in search of a theme, which it never achieves. After a failed attempt at suicide, Dan (Tom Pelphrey) is placed in psychiatric care under Dr. Bernstein (Robert Vaughn). The movie takes on a theme of "It's a small world" when Daniel starts dating the doctors daughter (Melissa Archer), has a fling with a woman (Ewa Da Cruz) who turns out to be her friend, his parents (Wayne Knight) divorce attorney, and a lover of a man (James McCaffrey) in his support group.Christopher Lloyd plays a caricature role as a patient pretending to be a doctor. I couldn't help but not laugh and cringe at the bad writing.Parental Guide: F-bombs. Sexual situations/talk. brief male rear nudity (Tom Pelphrey) Cleavage, bra/panties.
kpoutre-520-19473 I think the problem was "too many fish in the pond" You had a great story with the character of Dan going over the edge. The fact that he was put in a place where he had to go to meetings with older men could have been a heart wrenching gem. Great idea. Unfort. it got muddled with all these weird side stories. I kept saying "huh?" The whole strange character of Charlotte was wacko and unneeded. I love Christopher Lloyd but he was over the top and would have been better in the mens group. Jerry Stillers comedic timing was way under utilized.Tom Pelphrey is an actor with great range who could have really made a mark with this. Its really too bad. Hopefully he will find a role that will showcase his talent.
Ashley Lee EMFL is definitely a movie I would watch over and over and I did. It wasn't playing in a theater near me so I viewed it on demand, four times! I thought at first I wouldn't like this so much, that it would be your typical romcom but this one has fast become a favorite of mine. The movie was funny and at times insightful, with such a stellar cast and as far as it being a chick flick? I saw this with two of my guy friends and it's now a favorite of their's too,for reasons that become obvious when you see the film. The movie has the likes of Robert Vaughn and Chris Lloyd who were so good in their roles and don't talk about the newcomers Tom Pelphrey and Melissa Archer (beautiful girl), who I had seen on soaps before. They had no trouble heating up the screen and capturing your attention. They were AWESOME! I would certainly, with not even a second thought, watch another film that featured these two, together or separate.
Thovarf This is probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The totally unbelievable plot is premised on one coincidence after another. The druggie lead character's father is getting a divorce and his mistress happens to work at the institution to which the lead character is remanded. Said institution happens to be within walking distance of the mansion of his best friend/supplier. The lead character's mother is represented by a woman divorce attorney who frequents parties at the friend's mansion. Her best friend is the daughter of the doctor who runs the institution but she only attends the parties at the mansion when necessary for the plot. The doctor has the lead character participate in a discussion group of older men, one of whom is the friend of the late father of the female divorce attorney an academic who is hopelessly smitten by her. She quickly develops a school-girlish crush on him, despite acting like a merciless harpy when other men are concerned. And so on...Some of the acting, particularly that of the divorce attorney and the love stricken professor, is particularly bad. We at first thought they were trying to scam each o other before realizing. no, they just can't act, at least with this script and direction. Some of the scenes are puzzling, at best. I at first thought that the funeral was a poorly done fantasy sequence, before realizing, no, it was just poorly done.Avoid at all costs.
