Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods Trailers

The events of Battle of Gods take place some years after the battle with Majin Buu, which determined the fate of the entire universe. After awakening from a long slumber, Beerus, the God of Destruction is visited by Whis, his attendant and learns that the galactic overlord Frieza has been defeated by a Super Saiyan from the North Quadrant of the universe named Goku, who is also a former student of the North Kai. Ecstatic over the new challenge, Goku ignores King Kai's advice and battles Beerus, but he is easily overwhelmed and defeated. Beerus leaves, but his eerie remark of "Is there nobody on Earth more worthy to destroy?" lingers on. Now it is up to the heroes to stop the God of Destruction before all is lost.

SteinMo What a freaking movie. So many twists and turns. Absolutely intense from start to finish.
SanEat A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
dinodanz The movie Battle of Gods may as well have been a reboot since nothing in this movie follows anything in the TV shows moreover it tries to make that crap dragon ball GT canon.First is the characters, Goku has been rewritten and portrayed as an overconfident person who is WAY to nice to all people, in the show Goku fought Nappa, Freeza, and Kid Buu without showing them any kindness or ever over estimating his abilities, if Goku could not win he would have his friends to help him in a last ditch effort to use the spirit bomb, and Vegeta is just and unlikable prick towards everyone, now that's not to say he was not like that in the show it's just he became nicer and nicer as the series went on.Secondly is the random hate that Vegeta and Goku share for one another in this movie, if Goku and Vegeta fought an enemy they could not win against they would generally fuse and make Gogeta or Vegeto and fight someone like that, but in this movie apparently no one knows how to fuse minus Trunks and GotenThird is the fact that Goku did not even attempt the Spirit bomb, Goku and his friends knew that Bills was going to be a hard fight but at no point did any of Gokus friends help fend off Bills so Goku could make a spirit bomb like they have done in the past.Lastly is the fact the Goku just gives up and says "Your too strong and I can't beat you", At what point in any iteration of Dragon ball Z have you EVER heard Goku say I give up in a fight that meant Earth would be blown up, never you want to know why, because Goku never gives up, when Goku could not beat Kid Buu and Vegeta was down they wished Vegeta back from the dead just so he could continue fighting Buu so Goku could make a spirit bomb, then when Goku ran out of energy they wish for Goku to have all that energy back to he could follow through with his attack, at no point in this movie is teamwork shown unless the whole team gets beaten by Bills. If your really into DBZ you'll still watch it but you'll also notice all the flaws it has and you may agree that if Akria is going to go down this path he may as well just reboot the franchise and scrap the old one so he does not mess up the cannon any more
Otaku_Critic When I first heard of Dragon Ball Z Battle Of Gods, it was like a dream come true. As a Dragon Ball Z fan, I'd love to see a new movie. The first time I heard the title "Battle Of Gods", I was expecting Goku to fight literal Gods. Then when I saw the movie, Goku only fought one god so... It wasn't what I expected. But I still loved the movie. As for the story, it was practically okay. They kinda overdid the 3D battle scenes which makes the 2D version of the movie a little ugly. Bills' (or Beerus) character is very underdeveloped which is a let down. But all in all It's a lovable Dragon Ball movie. I'm still waiting for Resurrection Of F and I'll immediately do a review of that. In conclusion, Dragon Ball Z Battle Of Gods is practically a good movie. It has small problems but I'll let it slide for now.
bbickley13-921-58664 Another action packed super Kung Fu outing for Dragonball. The movie is everything that the animated series was but with a condensed time period.A cat God awakens after 50 years of sleep in order to battle a mythical Super Saiyan God, but finding only Goku and his friends not worthy could spell doom for the planet Earth, unless a wish from the Dragonball can help. I'll be honest, I have a short attention span and it sometimes frustrated me having to wait two of three episodes for a battle that would last two of three episodes(that part I liked), but this movie proves that you can get to the action nice and quick. But I will admit, for a movie about the ultimate power level the fight sequences were not the best I've seen in Dragonball. It would not make my Top ten. I guess when you reach that level the fight does not need to take that long.Like most movies these days, Dragonball wants to examine it's heroes, pointing out the flaw in Goku as being addicted to fighting and examining the long road all the characters toke to get to this place, using puns and one liners. The geek that I am love this concept, especially since it's true that Goku can't back away from a fight. The animation was cool, but not overall better than what the series did.Overall, it's been a long time since I have a good helping of some Dragonball, and this film was satisfying
david-dang202 When you see that title, you think something baddass will happen, especially with the cover being cool. Well guess what, the movie sucked. The movie really sucked because it was just comedy all movie and the title IMPLIES something cool will happen, not just random dumb jokes. At least implement the comedy like in "Legendary Super Saiyan Broly" or "Fusion Reborn". Some stuff didn't make sense either like SS3 Goku losing but later doing fine as SS1, and why Gohan didn't unleash his potential(I might be wrong though, and if he did, then why couldn't he stand a chance when SS1 does fine), and if Vegeta was gonna get more power based on rage, he should've had enough power to beat up Buu(because he ate Chocolate Bulma) while Bills simply slapped her. One big thing people like to rant on about is nostalgia, but yah Im only 14 and yet I had more nostalgia watching "Yo Son Goku and his friends Return!" just cause it obviously didn't give me expectations that it would be super action. This movie's animation was alright, but there are some movies(ones in the Buu saga) that were much better in some ways. Goku and Bills just fly around all over the place and give lame punches. The art style was okay, but not for dbz. It was more kawaii(cute) then sugoi(cool), and for me dbz suits cool better. Dragon ball deserves cute. Even tho GT wasn't the best, It had a good concept, and it was sorta execute slightly better than this bad movie. The saddest part is that GT may not be canon anymore while this movie is . That's pretty disappointing, especially since GT was pretty cool, though not as good, I'll admit.
