Excellent but underrated film

I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

OMG This is one of the funniest short movies EVER. I first saw it on IFC's Short Film Colllection a few years back, and I fell in love with it. My sister and I even taped it and we still say quotes from Das Clown like "Then A gust of wind.......". It hasn't been on recently so if anyone knows when it's going to be on leave a message on this website. Anyway It's about a toy maker who has an evil clown doll who kills him, and the policeman, but there's a big surprise at the end ( you're going to be spending the entire 8 minutes wondering. LOL. Every time I think of this movie I laugh inside so yeah it's funny, and ridiculous, and AMAZING AT LIFE.

I saw this a few months ago and thought it was the funniest thing that I had seen in quite some time. Told as if it were one of the filmstrips you watched in elementary school (you know, that one kid was always supposed to hit the button to change the picture but never would, and yet he always got chosen), this is the story of a sweet old man who doesn't follow one of the horror rules: never read out of the strange book in another language. His clown doll (who bleeds Pepto!)comes to life and tomfoolery immediately ensues. John Popper does some great narration as well.Whoever this Brown character is, he needs to do more stuff. 10/10.

If you have a fear of clowns, run from this movie! If not, settle back, relax and enjoy - a staple of the Independent Film Channel, Das Clown is very funny. Remember those filmstrips you saw in school? Brown resurrects the art form and with John Popper's homey narration, a cult classic is born.

So I'm watching IFC's Short Film Collection and this comes on.It starts out like a cutesy kid movie about this sweet old man that owns an antique show and his beloved clown. Then the clown comes to life and starts killing people, what is THAT about? Despite the completely bizarre story, it was nevertheless an incredibly intriguing short film. The slide show style was something I'd never seen before and it really made for a different experience since there was really no MOVEMENT on screen, only stills. The dialogue-free narration was also interesting and made for a 'book-like' feeling to the movie, like a story being read to you. However, due to the graphic nature of the plot I would not recommend it for the faint of heart, only die hard indie fans.
