Brendon Jones It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Matthew Newtson And I've seen A TON. Get through the first 3 minutes, and you'll be rewarded. A good amount of gore. Tim Chiou has some serious comedic timing. If you're into movies like You're Next, Club Dread, Basket Case or Death Proof, this flick is for you. If this movie would have had any kind of budget it all, it would have killed at the box office. Deserves a far higher score than what it's got right now. I don't know why I need 10 lines of text. 3 would have sufficed to get my point across. In fact, if you wouldn't require the 10 lines, you'd get a lot more motivated drunk reviews, much like the one I'm posting, at the moment. The shot before the end credits will make you squeal with delight.

Ruby Chang Honestly, I found this very enjoyable and fun. Most horror comedies seem to place the comedy part on the exaggeration of gore (in my opinion), and that's just really never worked out for me. But this attempt - less of a focus on special effects and more of a focus on characterization - is already much better. The actors do a great job at portraying a range of emotions, even if those emotions seem like they would be rather conflicting. Some of the humor was a little corny, but mostly good (especially that pedicure scene)! I thought the pacing of the jokes overall was well thought out so that the flow remained uninterrupted for the most part. The horror was also pretty good. Enough tense moments to balance out the comedy. And I actually got worried enough for the main characters (because I really liked them and found the antagonists plausibly scary) that I had to check the last couple of seconds of the film to make sure they survived before I could continue watching. In regard to the review about the director using clichés without subverting them, I'm not quite sure I agree. Maybe I'm completely misunderstanding, but much of the film was not predictable in my eyes. The beginning set-up was not. The ~tense, emotional~ conversation between the love interests in the first climax was not. The ending was not. I found the acknowledgment and consequent deconstruction of certain horror tropes very noticeable (and appreciated). All in all, I feel like this film is 7.5 stars out of 10, but I bumped it up to an 8 because of the low budget. Certainly worth a watch.
CorbanNoah I stumbled into this movie by accident; it was the one that I could see at that moment that seemed to have the most interesting title. I was very happy that I did.The basic premise is that a group of robbers--some competent, some not so much--try to pull off a heist at a house in the middle of nowhere. Unbeknownst to them, the house is actually a torture chamber for a serial killer. Criminal is pitted against criminal, and craziness ensues.Typically, horror/comedies end up being a bit scary with a few amusing moments, or mostly goofy with some cheesy horror-like moments. This movie jumps back and forth from having the audience laugh out loud to having legitimately tense parts. The ability to do both sides well made this movie very enjoyable for me. Granted, there were times where the jump between the two were almost too quick, making the emotional flow a little awkward. There were also a couple of forced jump-scares. But over all, a movie I would recommend seeing.
