Crazy Sexy Cool: The TLC Story Trailers

TLC's humble beginnings in Atlanta quickly led to an unprecedented rise to fame in the 1990's as one of the world's most talented, celebrated and highest-selling female groups of all time. Through very public and high profile success, turmoil and tragedy, TLC left an indelible stamp of female empowerment that changed the face of the music industry forever.

Ogosmith Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
mattkratz As far as biopics go, this was one of the better ones. I liked learning about the group and its origins, including seeing things I had known about and seeing thing I hadn't. I liked the recreations of the videos, seeing them meet, the auditions for the record company, their first going out on the road, Left Eye displaying her "crazy" personality (including acting out in the bars and burning down Andre Rison's house), and the bandmates' reactions to her tragic death. I think this was pretty accurate and well made with excellent performances and good concert scenes.*** out of ****
Seth_Rogue_One People seem to be very generous towards the rating of this movie due to it being a made for TV movie, but I mean it can't be compared with theatrical releases like "Ray" or "Walk The Line" or even "Notorious" for that matterIt's just a obvious TV production and I expected a little more from it to be honestI expected Left-Eyes burning down the house and death to have a bigger impact in the movie but it's all fairly rushed and portrayed without much depthSomething that's also lacking depth are the characters, especially the characters around the main characters, now I really like Evan Ross I think he's one of the better young black actors out there BUT I just don't see him playing Dallas Austin, it just doesn't work IMO... All the boyfriends in their lives feel just like empty shells tbh, they namedrop Mack 10 who was T-Boz's man for a good while and they have a guy play him but I don't recall him even having any lines just standing in the background, and the guys who do have lines as I said don't feel very realThe TLC characters are a little better but they to come across as caricatures more then full-fleshed human beings occasionallyI don't think people who aren't TLC fans will get much out of this movie
donjuanpoet Well, when I turned this film on I expected a VH1 movie. This movie was both directed and cast good enough to be on the BIG SCREEN. That is comparing this film to some of the TURDS I have seen this year. The actor was awesome, the casting was awesome. The casting was so good you forget what the real artists look like by the end of the first few minutes. To avoid ruining anything I will not give my opinion on the trails that the group faced but WATCH this film. If you avoid this movie because you feel on way or another about the music please don't. I was never a TLC fan and can not truly call myself one after seeing the film but I can say I now appreciate their art.
RS-Bundy The TLC story was a perfect made to T.V movie. I think I was more excited about this movie than my girlfriend. We both were hanging around and waiting for the movie to premier. I loved TLC growing up just because they were the "It" group at the time breaking all types of barriers. Both guys and girls were into TLC. There Genre was after political hip-hop and right before gangsta rap, so it didn't matter who you were, TLC was a group you wanted to here at the time. The movie was well produced and great story writing. everything we wanted to know about TLC that we didn't know was covered. I enjoyed the way all the characters were portrayed. Lil' momma did an excellent job portraying Lisa (left Eye) Lopes and her extremely charismatic ways. In my opinion it would take someone with real talent who did not have to try to hard to imitate left eye and someone who was not going to underact either. Lil' momma was the ideal actor.Pebbles was portrayed as the antagonist and I think that in order to tell their story precisely, they had to make sure pebbles was portrayed as accurate as possible, despite her allegations of slander. In all, I think this was a fun movie to watch and it hits close to home especially if you grew up right around the time they were blowing up in the music industry. They told their story without going overboard and sharing the most important highlights of their life and turning points. I think Lisa (left eye) lopes would be proud.
