I thought that Chennai Express was a decent movie. There was plenty of comedy and action, though some of the action scenes seemed drawn out to unneeded amounts of time. There was also romance in the film. One of the main themes in the movie was love and marrying the person you want to marry. The main characters, Rahul and Meenamma, did a very good job acting in this film. Some reviews say that all the movie is is overreacting, but I think that's just one of the comedy aspects of the movie.

The idea of a silly Bollywood film such as a Chennai Express seems to the opposite of something I would enjoy watching. But when you have been viewing some very serious, and depressing films, the ridiculous film give a break and takes your perception out of the real world. It puts your mind into a state of happiness and laughter, even though you may have no idea what is going on. The film is really just a true love story, with a few different things. Rahul, who is the main character, isn't the first person you would imagine to fight for his love. When he does fight for his love, Meena, he does it in such a confusing way. He doesn't really actually fight for his love until the very end of the move. The rest of time he confuses or talks his way out the fight. And the way the film is edited, Rahul's voice speeds up when he is "fighting." It makes for a very entertaining film. The fact that Rahul is accidentally placed in a world controlled by Meena's father and the fact he has no idea what he is getting into
all combined with Meena's seriousness, make for the perfect duo. You may not understand what the point of the film is at first, but the director eventually ties it all together. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a good laugh.

No story, Rare audience connect and irrelevant scenes; yet this film was a blockbuster. This could raise questions on the mindset of Indian audiences. Was it SRK's huge fan following, or dearth of a comedy movie, or collaboration of SRK with Rohit Shetty and Deepika Padukone that pulled the audience to theatres in such a large number. I think it was the goofy and highly energetic act By Shahrukh Khan that was worth a watch. Watch it only for SRK.

Chennai Express has been my favorite movie that I have seen so far, and I don't believe that will be changed. Everything was phenomenal, from the lighting and productions, to the costumes, the choreography, the singing, and especially the acting. I thought the story was brilliantly told, not only through dance and song, but through the actor's interpretation as well. I liked how they made Meena into a well thought out character who was fighting back against the arranged marriage her father was trying to force her into. I also enjoyed seeing Rahul transform from his weaker and more submissive form into a strong dependable character. Though, it did confuse me on how love alone powered him to beat Tangaballi and his men alone. I would understand if he had had some form of training in hand to hand combat, but it just seemed as if love gave him the power to overcome his foes, and that was weird to me.
