Truly Dreadful Film
KnotStronger
This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
Ella-May O'Brien
Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
Sarita Rafferty
There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

Pandelis is a garbageman who is anxiously waiting to retire and receive his well-earned superannuation payout. His wife and mother-in-law are also awaiting the super payout, but they have different ideas as to how the money should be spent. The usually submissive and calm Pandelis suddenly decides to react...Philippides does a sterling job as the long-suffering Pandelis and his vicissitudes leave one with a warm feeling. Unlikely though the scenario may seem, one wishes it to be true, thus giving hope for the many Pandelides out there who find themselves contemplating life in their middle years with regret and disappointment. An excellent movie, easy to watch but a little bit of a cautionary tale, also.

Ephapax is a film about a married man that works as a garbage collector. His retirement day arrives and his family calculates what they will do with his pension but they didn't think about what he wants to do. It gives an excellent view of a middle class family in greece. Very funny and unpredictable in what the next move of the main character (petros phillipidis) will be when he dissapears with the money and his familly starts looking for him. I give it a 10 out of 10

Nicos Zapatinas is a movie maker who knows how to make the spectator "feal" what he's watching. In Ephapax he takes two great performances from Petros Fillipidis and Evelina Papoulia. Especially Evelina has permanently left behind the identity of the binbo in "dyo xseni" and starting from the theater she is proving her great talent. Petros on the other hand could't have done worse since he is a great performer! The movie has Zapatinas' sence of humour (remember "enas k' enas"), fast pace, and a scenario inspired from every day's life that can touch anyone. The end of the movie left me with a a sweet taste and an optimistic view of tomorrow. Two thinks worth pointing out a)Evelina is a knock out! what a woman! and b)excellent music score and especially Maxairitsas' song performed by G. Kotsiras. If you combined all of the above you ll have a very entertaining time watching "EPHAPAX".
