Reviews
Robert Joyner The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Jonah Abbott There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
Hattie I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Aymaan1 Awarapan is One of my most favorite film.Great work from Emraan Hashmi. His and others acting and the making of the film make me compel to believe the story of the film.I've watched the film once more time with my friends and family. The theme of the film compel me to believe in love.Several scene of this film is really great.Music was also great. The music of the film is still my favorite. The film gave Emraan Hashmi another level...His style, speech delivery, attitude was really great.A great direction from Mohit suri.Hats off to the Awarapan team.We want Awarapan- 2......Keep it up Bhatt camp.Though Emraan's last a couple of film was flop so I think if Awarapan-2 will make,it would be better for Emraan Hashmi.
Vivek Don In my opinion,Mohit Suri is one of the most underrated directors in Bollywood industry........I am not saying that his films are flawless....but there is a minimum standard to his films than just old wine in new bottle type Karan johar films....... his first movie Kalyug was a good thought provoking movie......was a great theme....but direction had flaws, nevertheless it was his first film.....basic problem of his movies are the sequences in the last part of the movie.....in most of his films, the climax portions are big letdowns.....like raaz,Kalyug,Crook....... But I can ensure that Awarapan is his best movie.....climax is handled very well....now coming to the story.....Shivam(Emraan Hashmi) is part of the gang lead by Bahrat malik(Ashutosh Rana)which involves in illegal activities...Malik treats Shivam as his son.....Malik has the business of selling girls for prostitution......he encounters such a girl named Reema and has love for her....but he suspects that she gave her heart to someone else.....so he instructs Shivam to keep an eye on her.....on seeing her Shivam begins to have memories of his long lost love Aliyaa(Shriya saran)......But dangers lie for Shivam as he realizes that Reema is in love with a pakistani boy......will shivam be loyal to his master malik or will he help reema......this forms the rest of the story.....Emraan dons the role of Shivam.....really great performance...refreshing to see him in a different role other than the usual womanizer roles he does......another surprising fact is that he does not have a kiss in this movie....Ashutosh Rana also delivers an excellent performance as Bharat malik.....a great actor to look out for.....Newcomer Mrinalani Sharma gives an OK performance......nothing to brag about....Shriya saran has a short role.....she has nothing much to perform.....all other actors had did there part well.....nobody disappoints..Songs are the soul of the movie......all the songs are pleasant to hear...Tera mera Rishta song goes well with the flow of the movie......and in the climax parts it gives a certain effect to the movie....Direction was gripping at parts......but Emraan-shriya romance scenes were hampering the pace of the movie...Awarapan will not disappoint you in any way.......Its a nice movie to watch
silvan-desouza Vishesh films have given several good films like Gangster which became huge hits despite being low budget films AWARAPAN was their big budget film since long time and one of the reason the film flopped The movie was good though, despite being a copy of A BITTERSWEET LIFE The handling by Mohit Suri is great Emraan's character is handled brilliantly and the director manages to involve spirituality and other things very well The first half is slow but yet the scenes are very well handled, the flashback portion is good and also the entire Pre-interval point The 2nd half gets more intense and despite some cinematic liberties, the film is brilliantly handled Tera Mera Rishta comes at the apt place and makes a strong impact The spirituality angle looks in sync and is handled well The entire climax though filmy yet stands out esp the scene between Ashutosh and EmraanDirectorally Mohit Suri takes many steps ahead from his previous works, though his storytelling is slight flawed at places Music(Pritam) is perfect, esp To Phir Aao and Tera Mera Rishtaa cinematography is superbPerformances Emraan Hashmi till this film was not known as a great actor, but this film changed it all, He handled his role with amazing maturity and restraint Shreya is wonderful in a small role, Mrinalini is good though she tends to screech too much at places Ashutosh Rana is flawless in his part, Shaad Randhawa is good too Purab Kohli is excellent in his part Rehan Khan gets less scopeOverall a good film
Angelus2 I apologise if the translation is in correct. This film seemed very promising as I watched the trailers; I found myself one evening watching this movie and it struck a cord with me; something a Bollywood has never done.Shivan is a man haunted by the death of his lover, he uses his anger and pain to hurt people who have upset his boss, Malik. Soon, Shivan realises the error of his ways and meets a beautiful girl called Reema who reminds him of his deceased lover; and so he begins his path on redemption. The film brings the sex trade issue into light very well; and shows the fantastic scenery of India and Hong Kong. Being a fan of Shahrukh Khan when it comes to Bollywood; Emran proves he can do the serious stuff just as well. The film is a remake of the Korean movie Bittersweet life; being a fan of the far east, I haven't watched this particular movie; so this film may appear to be good. Hopefully Bollywood has done justice for the Korean film industry. The only thing that may need a little work is the action scenes, the fights seem at times messy but Emran makes up for it with his dialogue; a good movie to view when you've broken up with someone, the songs "Toh Phir Aao" and "Tera Mera Rishta" is icing to the cake, great lyrics and great music.Toh Phir Aao, is a definite favourite of mine.
