Altair Trailers

One of Klahr's masterpieces, Altair is an 8 minute collage color -noir culled from late-40s pages of Cosmopolitan, which induces a sense of claustrophobia and dread through its use of Stravinsky's The Firebird.

Reviews
Infamousta brilliant actors, brilliant editing
MoPoshy Absolutely brilliant
Merolliv I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.
Frances Chung Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
Polaris_DiB Lewis Klahr's "hands-on" approach brings us to space, or inner space, or a general idea of science fiction relative to 50s iconography and cocktail parties. As subjects move around under the hand-eyes of Klahr's particular approach to animation, relative orbits are created with maps of stars, lists of alcoholic beverages, and a slow spinning sensation throughout. Outer space could be so dizzying because it is outside of gravity, or inner space could be just as dizzying because it could be upset... the cause or effect of which might be the alcohol, either way.Along with it comes a strong sense of the familiar, the relative.--PolarisDiB
