For hundreds of years, Africa has existed in a state of despair. Famine, civil wars and rampant disease have left the continent without hope, but for the efforts of Western do-gooders. At first, they arrived with food, bibles and the magic of penicillin; more recently they have hosted rock concerts and sent plane loads of grain. And in the last decade of the 20th century they arrived and took babies home with them. First there was Angelina, then Madonna, and now...Pauly Shore! The film builds its comedy foundation on the international interest in Celebrity Adoptions, and the debate that surrounds these transactions on both sides of the Atlantic. Sometimes politically incorrect and never scared to tread on manicured toes.

Reviews
Interesteg What makes it different from others?
Protraph Lack of good storyline.
Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
Dana An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
candyala I watched it, all of it, plus the bonus, it was lame jokes, no originality, a stereotypical broader line racist observation, as you will notice in the little bar stand-up the Africans[ black folks] themselves did not laugh at his jokes , and in response, he dissed/busted on them. The film was careful not to have any audio from his stand-up performance in front of mainly white south Afrikaners, the producers knew American are more conscious / critical of crap racial / ethnic humor. HE tried to make hood jokes where there was no hoods, I guess its the only reference to black folks he knows ?!So it falls flat many times, but I will give him 2 stars for the journey .Yes,he did hang on the streets and in the end recommended how to appropriately support 'africa'.The country was Azania/ the old south Africa..keep coming back and try again!!
Todd Bearden This movie really made me chuckle. It took me a few minutes to get it but once I understood it really had me rolling around. It was obviously staged and not real. It was scripted. Anyone who gave it a bad review just maybe didn't catch that. Shore isn't a great actor or anything he just does silly little things the whole time.Really funny!! The kids in the film looked like they had a fun day too. I love the fact that he is poking at Madonna and Angelina too. I think their publicists did review here and really dissed him for it.Hey, Madonna and Angelina..."This child does not want to go with you!" "You should be in prison!!"hahaha. Keep your publicist off of these review sites. Ridley and Coppola...pssht, yeah right...fake nameSuper-fun movie. Check it out.
rosey0128 Adopted is not a cheap knockoff. Adopted was in the works before Borat was, thus the brief discussion in 2009 of Shore suing Baron Cohen since Shore's project came first (though this was later said to be to "mess with people" without any actual intention of suing). The movie bluntly addresses some very sensitive topics; however, the intention is not merely to "shock." I believe Shore achieves his goals to: expand his audience's views of his range as an actor, director, producer, writer; illuminate the hypocrisy of individuals who attempt to help a continent by removing its children rather than sending support; and finally to create a funny and thoughtful piece that allows the viewer to consider what is real and what is scripted.
LawWithAppeal I wasn't sure what to expect from this movie as Pauly hasn't really had much come out in a while, however the cover caught my eye off the bat as ridiculous. As many others I thought it might just be awful, however with an open mind and taking Shore's humor into consideration I watched it. I'm sorry but it's a MOCKumentary and it's a good one. I think some of the jokes could be found offensive if this were a documentary and Shore genuinely believed the stereotypes to be true, however it isn't. I think this is Shore's funniest stuff in a long time. In addition, I enjoyed seeing Africa, it looked beautiful. So all in all it is not for all, if you don't like Shore to begin with you will not like this movie, but if you are open to the comedy of it's worth the time to watch.
