InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Lucia Ayala It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.
Guillelmina The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
apeshave Someone please teach this guy how to direct. having camera in every angle looks good only for death cam after getting shot in a multiplayer game, NOT in movies. I started watching this and left it in middle at least 5 times. It is that unbearable. Waste of talented actor like Nana sir. I was expecting a lot like the first one.
nevildadrewalla Watch it for Nana's acting. Gul Panag is so so. The villains of the movie perform very well and act naturally. The story is run of the mill repeat . We have seen the same story in 100s of other movies and at least a dozen times in Nana's movies. Time pass movie finally. Nothing to write home about. The film will be forgotten in no time I wonder what's the point of making such movies. Technically good. The script would have been good for a serial but not fit for a movie. Nana is still in form though looks a bit old now. He should be given better roles as he can still do justice to any character and the audience still likes him.
silvan-desouza In 2004,Shimit Amin debuted as a director with Ab Tak 56, A film based on real life encounter specialist Daya Nayak, the film was much talked about and worked quite well, Nana received plaudits. That film was very realistic and had several powerpacked scenes. Almost 11 years later, we have Ab Tak 56 2 with a new team this time, almost new cast except Nana and some key characters most are new. Instead of Yashpal Sharma we have Ashutosh Rana and some more additions. The film like a sequel follows the same story however this time it lacks the strong punch of the original, there have been so many cop films that it's no longer unique. Another factor that goes against the film is the things are handled very routinely, there is lot of predictability Nothing really stands out, all seems seen beforeDirection is alright, the director does show some scope but he is bogged down by the film's script There is overdose of weird camera angles which get irritatingNana Patekar is superb in his role which only he could do, however the script lets him down, Gul Panag screams a lot throughout the film Ashutosh Rana is superb as always, Govind Namdeo gets less scope and is okay Vikram Gokhale is decent, Dilip Prabhavalkar is good Mohan Agashe and rest lend support. Raj Jhutsi plays a character who sits on a wheelchair and rattles phone calls to Nana and is decent, rest are OK
Anup APu Kumar Ab Tak Chhappan 2- The sequence of bad sequels continues with Ab Tak Chhappan 2. I cant understand why sequels in Bollywood are made by an entirely different team. In case of Ab Tak Chhappan 2 not just the director but producer also (Ram Gopal Verma was the producer for the first one) are different. An the new team has done a pretty bad job. Made a movie which you cant say bad , but too much boring (with just a running time of 1hr 46min , still boring) and forgettable. There is nothing much to say about it, movie has a plan story of a cop who is called back by Home Minister to tackle the raising gang war in the city. So Sadhu Agashe (Nana Patekar) comes and tackle with it in his own way. There was no twist (m not counting the predictable one) just plan chase sequence not so interesting too. And there was Bad camera work (like what we have seen in DEPARTMENT and ATTACK OF 26/11 with too much awkward angels , looks like the director is inspired from RGV but surely doesn't have the direction qualities of him). Wait there was bad background score too , which sometimes become romantic and sometimes become too loud , like two different people working together , and in both case it only makes the movie worst. Nana Patekar was sleep walking the role , he doesn't get much to do with his character , (although i liked the first half an hour of the film in which father and son relationship was the center of attraction) . Gul Panag was too load in the film , you always wonder why the hell she was screaming. And Ashutosh Rana mostly works as a comic relief in the film. This movie will not gonna make feel its presence at the box office , should not have been made with such carelessness . Only die hard fans of Nana Patekar (mark the word 'Die Hard' as i think everyone is a genuine fan of him) can try it that also not at all in theaters.. 4.5/10 By ANuP APu ANuP
